Retreat
I've had some "setbacks" at work. I was reassigned from an assignment I'd been in for 10 years, developing and implementing technological solutions to problems. My "replacement" (read: the jerk who tried to get me fired), in less than 6 months, has managed to utterly destroy everything I've spent a good chunk of my life putting in place.
The advice I've been given is "sit on your hands; watch how this plays out".
The problem is that "retreat" is not in my lexicon, nor do I think it's a word most EMS types approve of.
My level of frustration with work has begun to spill over into my personal life, which actually makes me feel even worse.
I am adrift.
